Affiliate Disclosure
In accordance with FTC guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, WaterQ discloses that some links on this site — including product links in our water filter guide and the recommendations shown on city and water system pages — are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, WaterQ may earn a commission from the retailer, at no additional cost to you.
How this works
We participate in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate
advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to
Amazon.com and affiliated sites. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" in
the page source, per Google's guidelines for paid/sponsored links.
How this does — and doesn't — influence our recommendations
Filter recommendations on WaterQ are matched to the actual contaminants detected in EPA data for a given water system or city, following the NSF/ANSI certification standard that addresses that specific contaminant (see our filter guide for the full breakdown). We do not accept payment from manufacturers to recommend a specific brand or product, and a recommendation is never based on which affiliate program pays the highest commission. Commission rates do not change which contaminant category or NSF standard we point you toward.
