St. Augustine, FL receives a water quality score of 71/100 (Grade C) based on EPA Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS) compliance data for 8 public water systems serving the area.

St. Augustine's score of 71 is 7 points above the Florida state average of 64, and below the nationwide average of roughly 78/100 across all U.S. states.

Homebuyers and residents in St. Augustine must evaluate the water quality profile of a mid-size Florida city that draws from a Southeast coastal limestone aquifer. This geological source, combined with the demands of a dense and growing population, places the performance of the local water systems in a mediocre tier. Consequently, those living in the area should expect average water quality as these multiple systems adapt to regional growth pressures.
